| LATEST NEWS | 1st Oct 2008: A new balance scale added to the collection: Here we have a scale once owned by Thomas Gregson from Blubberhouse, marked with his signature in 1863. And then signed by a new owner F.C. Steele from Roole in 1905. It is this connection between social history and function of a precision instrument which facinates the scale collector. |

| 10th Oct 2008: The new meeting room is now ready to be used. The third room in the museum has now been finished to recieve guests for meetings, conferences and as a dining room. This is a large room within an 1840's barn, and has been converted with displays including rare weights and scales from the Bank of Englnd. Seating up to 40 people the room is perfect for recieving visitors and giving talks on the history of scales, weights and rural artifacts.

| At the end of August 2008: The Museum gained several new scales and weights, which are in the process of being catalogued and researched. | |||||
| 6th June 2008: The Museum welcomed Barry Oliver (expert in Oertling scales) and Thomas Allgeier (expert in Stanton Instruments) for a very informative afternoon. The Museum thanks these two knowledgable gentlemen for their valuable contributions in identifying certain exhibits we will be updating shortly (please go to the web site links found on the home page, to find out more about both Oertling and Stanton from their web sites). | |||||
| Comming up in October 2008: There is an autumn meeting of the ISASC Europe Society at Best Western Yew Lodge Hotel in Kegworth. Present at the meeting will be members of USA ISASC joining the 'Show and Tell' themed day. for more information see the ISASC Europe site. | |||||
| 18th September 2008: The Museum has just recently expanded by renovating the meeting hall arera in the barn built circa 1821. We are in the middle of displaying a number of scales within this room, ready to welcome the ISASC members from the USA arriving in October. | |||||
